What makes these cranks special?
The Veloce groupset was introduced as a racing groupset alternative to Shimano’s 105 series. Campy Chorus, Record and Super Record was competing against Shimano’s Dura-Ace and found a niche’ market in the US from cyclists who wanted to maintain authenticity with their Italian frames, however, the cost to do this with Chorus or Record was really pricey. Campy was losing in the midrange market to Shimano’s 105 and the Veloce groupset was their answer. But, Campy didn’t shave off the quality of components to compete. These cranks are elegant, light weight and very durable. The option to maintain Italian craftmanship without spending a fortune makes these cranks a beautiful thing.

Very Good – light scuffs and marks to the arms but the campy logo is clear. Chainrings in excellent condition.

 Make sure your cranks will work with your bottom bracket.

Crank arm length.

 Make sure the crank arm is the right size for your body. 165mm for shorter, 172.5 for average height. 175 for taller. Your knees will thank me later.

Wear and damage

 – while the arms will last forever, the rings will wear out over time. Look for shark teeth! If the teeth on the chainrings are sharpened to a point with rounding at the base, that’s a big warning. Newer teeth will be rounded and squared. Most chainrings have different shaped teeth to catch the chain and shift smoothly. So, different shapes aren’t the problem. Sharp pointy teeth with cavernous lows are.
